I was asked if I could design and build a special Gotek that would fit directly into a 5.25 slot of a custom Amiga (in a PC case).
This resulted in a custom designed and 3D printed 5.25 inch Bracket, which allows the gotek to be mounted on a free 5.25 inch spot without any problems.
Oled Display, buzzer and Rotary encoder are mounted without the use of glue, and can be replaced without any problems if this should ever be necessary.

The design of the housing is such that all extensions can be easily mounted and dismounted, so no globs of glue, drilling holes or other nonsense.

This 5.25 Gotek with 1.3 Oled display offers you by using a larger display space for 4 lines of information instead of the 2 lines of information with the 0.91 Oled display.
You also have the option to use 3 lines of which 1 line can be shown at double size, for when you, like me, are getting older and more chicken 🙂

The drives are equipped with the latest Flashfloppy firmware, are fully tested and ready for immediate use.

5.25 Gotek + Amiga external interface

The 5.25 Gotek + Amiga external interface works like a charm with my Amiga 500.
My plan is to install it in the housing of my old defect external 5.25" Amiga floppy drive.
I had a nice guidance from Ed before ordering.

Really top notch these Goteks in 5.25”. I installed them in my PC8801 and they work perfectly!

Perfect!

Paid on Wednesday morning and delivered at home in the evening by Ed himself.
Turned out to live nearby and was in the area. What a service! Even with attention, daughter very happy.
I immediately tried out the 5.25 Gotek with 1.3 Oled display with a number of DOS images (Olivetti 3.20 and 6.22 upgrade) and going through the folder structure turned out to be very easy.
Works like a charm. Also nice that you can see which track and side are being read.
The sound from the speaker makes it complete. Just like a real floppy drive but so much more convenient.

Zelfs met attentie erbij, dochter heel blij.Ik heb de 5.25 Gotek met 1.3 Oled display direct uitgeprobeerd met een aantal DOS images (Olivetti 3.20 en 6.22 upgrade) en door de folder structuur lopen bleek heel eenvoudig.Werkt als een trein. Ook leuk dat je kunt zien welke track en side worden uitgelezen.Het geluidje uit het speakertje maakt het af. Net een echte floppy drive maar dan zoveel handiger.
