Tapecart Instant Menu Loader Cartridge
After having the TapeCart in my assortment for a while , I am personally still very happy with this nifty piece of hardware.
And given the load of positive reactions I have received in the meantime, many with me.
But over time I also got a number of times the question why there is no reset button on the Tapecart_SD.
There is a simple explanation for this, the Tape port is about the only expansion port without a reset line. 🙂
So technically you can't run a reset line on the tapecart_SD without going internally.
In order to accommodate the people who still wanted a reset button (and who do not have a fastloader or expansion cartridge), I decided to design a cartridge that, in addition to a reset button, also loads the browser program immediately when switched on.
The Tapecart Instant Menu Loader Cartridge ensures that the menu without Shift - Run/Stop appears (almost) immediately on the screen after switching on or resetting your C64.
What is also a nice extra is that after a reset you will now immediately return to the folder where you were last working, so instead of having to browse where you were over and over again, you go directly to that menu.

The Tapecart Instant Menu Loader Cartridge is based on a Magic Desk Cartridge concept.
That is a cartridge that can load *.prg files (via a special menu generator).
The main components of the cartridge are a 64 KB eprom, and 2 logic ICs.

What a pleasure to be able to start the TapeCartSD so quickly. Loading via the "normal way" becomes annoying in the long run.
This is a nice addition and a lot of added value for not too much money.
Ordering and shipping also went smoothly.

Some time ago I bought a Pi1541 on eBay, but I was very disappointed in terms of loading times.
After Ed's enthusiastic stories about the Tapecart_SD, I decided to buy it in combination with the Instant Menu Loader.
Well I have to say he didn't say too much, I was blown away by the speed at which it worked, I call this the Speedy Gonzales on the C64.
Both products have a neat 3D printed housing. And they were delivered quickly, very well packaged and with clear manuals.
In short, I am very satisfied with this and to use a quote from Ed "I can now experience it as I experienced it". But much faster 🙂
