Amiga CR2032 Replacement for Varta Batteries

If you removed your (or not) leaking Varta in time, then you were lucky, for many people it has turned into a drama.
But with the battery removed, the clock of your Amiga no longer keeps its time, but in most cases also no longer runs at all.
There is a solution, based on a (CR2032), which you have to replace every 2-3 years, but the chance that it will leak is very small (Once the adapter is installed, replacing a button cell is a very simple job).

A CR2032 battery requires a small additional circuit!

Since you are NOT allowed to charge this battery, you need an additional circuit for this.
The Amiga will recharge the battery during use, and that is not wise for a CR2032.
The replacement battery adapter has a circuit of a Diode (which blocks the current direction from Amiga to battery, and the other way around allows the current to pass to the Clock circuit.
Furthermore, there is a resistor in the circuit that provides further protection when the diode fails.

This adapter fits in :

Commodore A501 RAM expansion
Commodore Amiga 500 Plus
Commodore Amiga 1500
Commodore Amiga 2000

And presumably also in (not tested)

Commodore Amiga 3000
Commodore Amiga 3000T
Commodore Amiga 4000
Commodore A2386SX bridge board

Top quality

Very good quality on these coin cell holders - I just revived two A501's with them and next one is going in my A2000.

Recommended!
