The Cortex Firmware for Gotek has been around since 2014.
The last released version of the Cortex Firmware is 1.05a and dates back to 2014.
This firmware is no longer updated, as I read it was released as freeware and the writer of the firmware was quite indignant that other parties started asking for money for his work, which he did selflessly.
The Cortex Firmware for Gotek Floppydrive Emulators supports a Boot menu ADF.
That program greatly simplifies browsing and selecting images, Simply select slot 000, boot the Amiga from Image 000 , Browse the list of images, select the disk image you want to load, and after a reboot the selected diskimage will be booted from through the Gotek floppy drive emulator.
Cortex is (C) 2013-2019 Hervé Messinger.
(Flashfloppy is an initiative that started after the aforementioned was not developed further.
(Flashfloppy is much more flexible and comprehensive than Cortex, but more on that in the Flash Floppy Firmware post.)
Despite the fact that the firmware has not been updated for years, it does what it should (But only for the Commodore Amiga).
Support for new developments such as OLED display, On screen display, rotary encoder, buzzer etc etc are not supported by this firmware.
Only if you specifically want this firmware I would choose this, otherwise I would strongly advice to pick a newer and still supported alternative.
They can do everything the Cortex firmware for Gotek can, and a whole lot more.
